Abstract
The article studies the mobilization of the field of Catholic-inspired secular organizations of neoconservative ideology (CISO-N) against the Spanish Euthanasia Law. Despite euthanasia being the new front of moral, cultural and political neoconservative contention, such mobilization remains largely unexplored; our study aims to remedy this lack. To this end, it concentrates on CISO-N mobilizational repertoire and identity work, analyzing it from both a relational and historical-comparative perspective. Thus, we focus on the structure and network dynamics of the CISO-N field and its extended anti-rights field, led by religious organizations and conservative political parties; and also on the links between these organizations, their public narratives and socio-symbolic practices. In addition, we contemplate the impact of a political opportunity structure marked by a progressive PSOE-Unidas Podemos administration, the socio-sanitary crisis triggered by COVID-19, and the arrival of the far-right party VOX to Parliament.
