Benjamín Tejerina

Benjamín Tejerina is Professor of Sociology and director of the Collective Identity Research Center (CEIC), from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).

His main areas of research are social movements, precariousness and transformations in work culture, sociology of language and ethnolinguistic movements, collective identity, sociology of youth and sociological theory.

In 1990 he received the National PhD Dissertation Award in Sociology and Political Sciences from the Sociological Research Center (CIS, Spain). This initial recognition has been consolidated by a track record of excellence backed by quality indicators, international leadership positions and recognition from the scientific community through publications, residencies and management responsibilities in international associations.
