The Collective Identity Research Centre (CEIC) is a research group on questions related to identity in contemporary societies . Its members on the whole are researchers linked to the second Sociology Department of The University of the Basque Country .

The CEIC was founded in 1994 and has been granted the status of “Consolidated and High-Performance Research Group in Social Sciences” from 1996 up to now. AISLF's (Association Internationale des Sociologues en Langue Française) Chairmanship of the Research Committee “ Identité, Espace et Politique” (CR1) , ISA's (International Sociological Association) Secretariat of the Research Committee on Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change (RC48), and Spanish Federation of Sociology's Chairmanship of the CISP (Comité de Investigación en Sociología Política ) lie in the CEIC at the moment.

The CEIC has suitable facilities for social research: several workrooms, computer material for social research, and an information centre specializes in identity
